Local clinic case study: From no website to looking legit

A local healthcare clinic had zero online presence and relied entirely on word of mouth. Here's what we built, what changed, and why "looking legit" matters more than founders think.

The problem: invisible online, even with a full waiting room

This clinic had been running for years. Steady patients, a good reputation in the neighbourhood, a doctor people trusted.

But if you searched for them online, you found almost nothing. No website. A Google Business listing with outdated hours and no photos. If a new patient tried to check them out before booking, there was nothing to see.

Word of mouth had gotten them this far. But word of mouth doesn't scale, and it definitely doesn't work on someone who just moved to the area and is Googling "clinic near me" at 11pm.

Why "no website" was quietly costing them patients

The clinic didn't think they had a marketing problem. They had patients. Things felt fine.

But here's what was actually happening: every new patient who searched for them online and found nothing was making a decision, just not out loud. They'd move on to a clinic that had a real website, real photos, and looked like a place that took itself seriously.

Trust is built before someone ever walks through the door. And with zero online presence, that trust-building moment simply didn't exist for this clinic.

What we built: A Framer website designed to feel trustworthy first

For a healthcare business, "trustworthy" matters more than "impressive." We didn't go for flashy animations or a bold creative concept. We built a clean, calm, easy-to-navigate site that answered the questions a nervous or new patient actually has:

  • Who's the doctor

  • What do they treat

  • Where's the clinic

  • How do I book an appointment

  • Is this a real, professional practice

Every section of the site was built to reduce hesitation, not add flair for its own sake. Real photos of the clinic space. A clear doctor bio. Straightforward service descriptions without medical jargon. A visible, simple way to get in touch.

What we built: Image and UGC ads to bring in patients actively searching

A website alone doesn't bring people in, it just gives them somewhere to land once they're looking. So alongside the site, we built a small ad presence: a mix of image ads and UGC-style content.

The image ads focused on clarity: what the clinic treats, and a simple, direct reason to book. No stock-photo doctors in white coats standing awkwardly. Real, specific messaging about real services.

The UGC-style content leaned into the same trust-first approach as the website. Instead of a polished brand ad, it felt like a genuine recommendation, the kind of content that doesn't scream "advertisement" the moment someone scrolls past it.

The result: "This finally looks legit"

SECTION 5 DETAILS We don't have a dramatic revenue chart to show you here, and we're not going to pretend we do. What we do have is something just as telling: the clinic's own words after seeing the finished site and first ads live.

"This finally looks legit."

For a healthcare business, that reaction matters more than almost any other metric. Patients don't research a clinic the way they research a SaaS product. They're looking for a fast, gut-level sense of "can I trust this place with my health." A real website and real ads gave this clinic exactly that, for the first time.

What this means if your business looks like this clinic did

If you're running a service business on word of mouth alone, you're not doing anything wrong, it's gotten you this far. But every day without a real online presence is a day where someone found you, looked, saw nothing, and quietly chose someone else.

You don't need a massive rebrand or a huge ad budget to fix this. You need:

  • A website that actually represents how seriously you take your work

  • A small, focused ad presence that reaches people already looking for what you offer

That's exactly the kind of project I like taking on. If your business is in this exact spot right now, let's talk about what a first version could look like.
